When installing the cylinder head, a torque wrench must be used to strictly follow a multi-step tightening sequence. This ensures uniform pressure distribution across the cylinder block surface and achieves a leak-proof seal:
1. Pre-lubrication: Apply a small amount of clean engine oil evenly to the bolt threads and the undersides of the bolt heads.
2. Step 1: Tighten all 10 bolts in the specified sequence to a torque value of 26–29 lb-ft (35–39 Nm).
3. Step 2: Following the same spiral sequence, tighten all bolts an additional 60° to 65°.
