The Subaru FA20 series consists of 2.0-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder (“Boxer”) engines featuring direct fuel injection technology. Specifically, the naturally aspirated FA20D variant (with a compression ratio of 12.5:1) produces approximately 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque (found in the BRZ/GT86 models); meanwhile, the turbocharged FA20DIT variant (with a compression ratio of 10.6:1) delivers between 250 and 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque (found in the WRX/XT models). Both versions feature an identical bore and stroke of 86 millimeters.
